"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

Easter 2016

We had a nice little weekend celebrating Easter.  I took the kids to the city wide egg hunt on Saturday.  We are usually out of town on that day, so this was our first year.  There were so many kids there!  The kids still found eggs and had fun playing with friends on the playground.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and baking cinnamon rolls for breakfast at church.

We woke up to three inches of snow on Sunday morning!  It had been 70 and sunny the day before! The kids got to find and open their Easter baskets before we left for breakfast.

 I love my sweet family!

We had a great Easter lunch at Grammy and Papa's house and even had extra fun with Koko, Shawn, and Kaia down too!  And the kids rocked one more easter egg hunt.

I had tried explaining dyeing Easter eggs to Lyle-he thought the idea sounded so funny, but he loved it!

Cousins!

Over the last couple of weeks we got to spend time with all of my siblings and see our nieces and nephews.  It was so so nice to see everyone and spend some time together!

This was our first time to meet baby Mae, who is my brother Mike and his wife Steph's little girl.  She and Aria are 10 months apart.

It was awesome to hang out with Jeff and his fiance (woot woot!) Sarah.

 Babies love Uncle Zach

Our sweet family friend Edna Ruth

Aria and Auntie Steph

 The big cousins love babies!

Aria giggles

Mae already has sweet tricks at the skate park

You can believe I stole as many baby snuggles as I could!

Gigi and Grandaddy

Everyone couldn't be there the same weekend, so we headed back to Hesston for time with my sisters and their kids.  Aria and the twins were buds!

The babes only vaguely understood the egg hunt...mostly they just ran around the yard.

But Lyle was allll about it

Summer and Weston became expert dirt tossers. lol

Gigi and Grandaddy with the rest of the grands

I was able to take an extra day off and we went to the zoo on Tuesday

These big kids were crazy!

Lyle posed by this statue and asked me to take a picture and send it to his Grammy.  It turned out to be such a cute picture! Good idea bud.

Wednesday was my sister Carrie's birthday and she and Kristen came down to Harper after I got off work and we went out to dinner.  Just us...no kids.  It was wonderful. :) It has been years if ever since we have done that.

Love my family!

Weekend Recap: Dinosaurs in Kansas City

We shot up to Kansas City for a quick weekend to celebrate my wonderful sis-in-law's birthday.  Lyle lucked out and got to head up early with Grammy and Papa.  They made sure to send lots of pictures of his shenanagains!

A few bubbles to get started....

Ice cream makes any day better!

He was protecting Kaia from the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk.  They both look a little worried don't they?

Lyle is such a little lover.  He always wants to be close to you and he was not phased at all that Kaia was petting his head.

They went to Fritz's restaurant on Friday where your food gets delivered by a train.  Lyle thought it was awesome.

On Saturday we headed to Legends to eat at the TREX cafe.  We walked around, shopped and played by the fountain before lunch.

He thought this place was so cool!

Bonus points for twinning with Aria.

After "naps" we walked to the park to play.  It was perfect weather, and apparantly everyone and their dog thought so too....it was packed!

Those cheeks.  They get me every time!

Friends in the making!

Aria and Auntie Koko

Sunday we walked around IKEA, had some great mexican food for lunch, and celebrated Kodi's 9th whole birthday!

Sorry for the blurry picture...I'm sure I was laughing while taking this!

We always have a great time when we head to KC!  No matter that I've needed a couple extra cups of coffee in the morning and Lyle keeps telling me he's too exhausted to get up! ;)  All in the name of fun!
