I've been feeling the back to school rush lately. No, I haven't been buying school supplies, or setting up a classroom, I've been making dozens of poor Kindergarteners cry. :( We have been swamped at work with kids needing their school immunizations. Although most of them know what they need at least by May, a big majority of parents wait until the very last minute. Who knows...if I had to bring my 5 year old child in kicking and screaming, I might put that off too. I actually don't mind that part of my job...giving shots, but sometimes I feel like the meanest person in the world! Luckily a Spiderman/Cars/Tinkerbell sticker usually smoothes things over, and a promise of McDonald's icecream always helps!
So now that school has started we get a bit of a break. That is until its time to start giving flu shots. Which always seems to come sooner than we are ready for. So good luck to everyone starting school...I am not jealous at all (except maybe of your summer vacation!!!) !
"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

A Wedding Roadtrip
On Saturday, my good friend CJ and I, along with another college friend went to Garden City to see our friend Levi get married. We were good friends with Levi our sophmore year at Hesston, while he was at Bethel College, rooming with Chad Hershberger. We had so many fun memories from that year watching movies and taking late night trips to IHOP.
We had a little time to kill in between the wedding and the reception, so we went bowling. In our dresses...yes we looked awesome! Hahah. So fun. Loved the time catching up with my friend!
Congratulations Levi and Bethany!!!

Weekend at the Lake
I learned about the plan to go to the lake Wednesday night. That a trip was planned by my family, that included everyone that was close enough to go, in less than a week is a miracle in itself!!! My sister Kristen and her husband Philip, live in Rogers, AR. Philip's family has a lake house on Beaver Lake, that they so wonderfully let us borrow for a weekend from time to time. All we have to do is walk down the hill to the dock and we are in the business of relaxing!!!
Zach and I drove down Friday night after work, and the rest of the family drove down on Saturday morning. There is nothing quite like a cup of coffee on the porch overlooking the water and chatting with my sis!!!
The weather was hot and sunny, but the water felt wonderful. We spent the days floating on the water, relaxing, and catching up with the fam. We got in quite a bit of play time with miss Zoë, treasuring those precious smiles.
We a few games, including Pass the Pigs, and "Telephone Pictionary," which if you have never played...is hilarious!!! I wish I would have taken a picture of the end product. The basic idea is like telephone, where the message gets mixed through each person's interpretation. The first person writes down a phase/song title/situation/etc. then passes the paper to the next person who draws what the words say. The next person then has to write down what the picture looks like without seeing the original phrase, then goes on alernating each time. "Falling down a well" turned into a "toddler," and "Nelson Mandela ..." was interpreted as "sock it to me." HAHA. good laughs.

Happy Birthday to ME!! :)
I had my 24th birthday on Tuesday. That sounds so old, but the ladies at work say it sounds like 12 to them! Hah! We celebrated with my parent's and Carrie's family a couple weeks ago before my parents took their trip to North Carolina. Mom spoiled me with some of my favorites (strawberry cheesecake ice cream and white chocolate covered strawberries) and it was just nice to have time to visit. I got some beautiful flowers and balloons at work from Zach, and enjoyed a YUMMY meal (with more of my favorites!) with my in-laws and Grandma on my birthday. Zach and I went to Wichita on Saturday to pick up his truck and celbrate my day. We went to the mall and Dan and Allison joined us for a movie(one that did not have any shooting or blowing up or superheroes-can you tell I got to pick?? :) ) We ate Panera for lunch and Pei Wei for supper, plus Smoothie King in the middle. What a day of good food!!! We may be in a bit of a rut when it comes to eating out in Wichita, but when you know something is sooo good, how can you pass it up??
I had a great day (even though I had to work-shouldn't that be a holiday each year?????) and felt very loved. It makes me grateful for all the wonderful people in my life!!
