"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

23 Weeks

Size of Baby:  Papaya

Total Weight Gain: 16 pounds (and yes...9 of those were in the last month...OMG! lol)

Maternity Clothes: yes

Gender:  BOY!!!

Movement:  All the time now.  I think he liked all the action in Mission Impossible...he was kicking the whole time!

Sleep:  Not too bad...much better in my own bed with my own pillows

Cravings:  Nothing I just HAVE to have...we picked up breadsticks from Fazoli's and they were just as amazing as I imagined :)

Symptoms:  Back Pain.  Apparently my back is out of line and the knots are pressing on a nerve.  Going back to the chiropractor to see if he can help.

Best Moment this Week:We had a great time with family at Christmas last weekend.  Our Dr. apt was this morning and she said everything looked good!

What I'm Looking Forward To:Another long weekend!

Christmas with the Bauers

We headed back down to Harper Saturday night and went over to Zach's parents. The Pote's were already out there, and we enjoyed some soup and chili (Crunchy Munchy Chili as I always call it, courtesy of Hesston school lunches when it is served with fritos and cheese).

Christmas morning we woke up and opened our stockings, and the rest of the family joined us for the opening of presents.  I love Christmas morning!  We are so blessed to have family close and be able to spend time with everybody!

Hahah...Chase in his Santa costume

Zach won $2000 on a scratch crossword lottery ticket that was in his stocking!!!!  AWESOME!

The rest of the weekend was spent chatting, playing games, and of course eating.  I will post a picture of my belly soon....I think you will be able to tell that baby Bauer ate VERY well this weekend! :)

Christmas with the Norris'

Ahhh....how I love Christmas!  While it seemed like the weeks leading up to Christmas were a little crazy this year, we had a wonderful relaxing weekend with family.

We headed up to Wichita Thursday night after work to meet up with my family at my sister Carrie's house.  After supper we enjoyed a " family talent show" and were cracking up at my brother's skit of "Tasty Treats with Mike and Jeff."  We also heard several other songs and readings.

Thursday we spent in Hesston.  The girls baked and decorated cookies while the boys went out to shoot skeet.  We all enjoyed catching up with the "fam," especially those sibling who live so far away!

Friday we treated as Christmas, and after eating breakfast we headed downstairs to open gifts.  Between the siblings (girls got gifts for the girls, boys for boys) we did $5 gifts.  It was entertaining to see how creative everyone got!

I made these coasters for the girls.....thank you Pinterest! :)

My niece Zoe is 8 months old, and it was fun to add her to our Christmas festivies.  Crazy to think our little boy will be that old come next Christmas!

20 Weeks....Halfway Done!!!

(Sorry no picture...All the pictures I took looked terrible (I blame it on being sick) so maybe one later this week!)  But the bump is growing I promise!)

Size of Baby:  Small Cantaloupe!

Total Weight Gain: 7 pounds

Maternity Clothes:Yes and No...mixing and matching still right now.

Gender:  BOY!!!

Movement:  Yes, it's fun to feel his little movements.  I can't wait until it's enough that Zach can feel him.

Sleep:  Okay.  Some nights are still better than others

What I miss: Being able to take medicine...sometimes Tylenol just doesn't cut it!

Cravings: We made a trip to Anthony one Saturday morning for donuts...and they were amazing. Definitely worth it.  But no crazy cravings yet.

Symptoms:  Back aches and I was sick with a cold this past week-no fun!

Best Moment this Week: We had our first sonogram last Tuesday.  It was amazing.  To be able to see the details in our tiny little baby was incredible.  And we found out that we are having a boy!  We had thought it was a girl (for no particular reason) but are so excited for a boy!

What I'm Looking Forward To: Well, I just love Christmas time, so coming home and relaxing in the evenings with the Christmas tree all lit up is wonderful to me.  We have a pretty "normal" week, with some Christmas parties this weekend.  Should be fun!

17 Weeks

Please excuse the hotel bathroom in the background :)

Size of Baby....an onion!

Total Weight Gain: 4-5 pounds

Maternity Clothes: I got a few shirts, sweaters, and a pair of jeans last weekend.  I wore the jeans today....that belly panel is weird! And still a little big,  but its a tradeoff as to which feels more funny...that or having to tie my regular jeans closed!

Gender:  2 more weeks!

Movement:  YES!  I felt it today for sure, and it was crazy!  So hard to describe how it feels, but sooo exciting!

Sleep:  Okay

What I miss:  Not worrying so much about what I eat....I was scared to eat lunch meat on my sandwich today, after we had talked about listeria and other foodborne diseases all morning at my training.  Lol.

Cravings: I ate a baked potato with chili from Mc Alister's tonight with a big glass of sweet tea.  It was soooo good!

Symptoms:  Back aches and sciatic nerve pain.

Best Moment this Week: Had such a good weekend with my mom and sisters!  And Sunday was wonderful relaxing with Zach at home.

What I'm Looking Forward To:  I am in Topeka/Lawrence for training this week, so I will be glad to get back home!  Then another short week and it's Thanksgiving! :)

Girl's Weekend

This weekend the girls in our family got together for some shopping, crafting, baking, and catching up.

We went out for Lunch on Friday to this French restaurant, where we had the most amazing desserts ever.  Afterwards we went shopping, where I was able to find some maternity clothes for the next several months.  It is so nice to have moms and sisters along when shopping!  We headed back home to rest and so Zoe could take her nap.  We made supper that night, and were pitifully tired by about 8 pm!  It is so dark by then it felt like time for bed, haha.

Saturday we made french toast for breakfast, and skyped with our brother Mike in South Carolina.  (Mike and I always remember trying to make french toast by ourselves one Saturday morning.  Mom had told us how to make it, but we couldn't quite remember the recipe.  So we added a little milk, eggs, flour.... didn't turn out very good!  lol. Also, ginger does not work well as a substitute for cinnamon while making cinnamon toast. :)  We made shortbread cookies, then headed out for lunch at Cafe Modern.  Yummy food and gelato!  We worked on a craft in the afternoon while discussing other Pinterest crafts.

And of course we held, loved, and laughed with Zoe as much as possible!  What a wonderful time to catch up with the girls...I love my family! :)

16 Weeks

Size of Baby....an avocado! lol

Total Weight Gain:  I was up 3 pounds at my last appointment, so that puts me about even.  Going the right direction!

Maternity Clothes:  Well I am using a hair tie to keep my pants buttoned, which is working fine for now, but I am going to look for some new pants this weekend!  I will say that I am glad I get to wear comfortable scrubs at work!

Gender:  2 1/2 weeks until our ultrasound!  We can't wait!!! :)

Movement:  Not yet, but it should be soon!

Sleep:  Is getting much better!  I bought a maternity pillow called a "Snoogle."  Hahah...funny name, but once I got used to it, it has helped!  Although it is a little big, I have to sleep with it one way, so Zach still has room!

What I miss:  Vanilla Iced Coffee from McDonald's.

Cravings: I have discovered that instead of iced coffee, peppermint hot chocolate will work pretty darn well.  :)

Symptoms:  Back aches and sciatic nerve pain.  Some days are worse, but nothing too bad.

Best Moment this Week:  People can tell that I am pregnant!  Sorry there is no picture yet this week...it will be coming!  Its a still a little bump, but it's there!!!

What I'm Looking Forward To:  Girl's weekend with my family!

An update on life...

We have been so busy....with so many things I should have been blogging about!!!

A quick catch-up....
We had a great weekend in Kansas City.  Saturday I went with Kodi's other bridesmaids to look for new dresses for the wedding.  They had picked out super cute dresses before, but now that I will be about 8 months pregnant at her wedding, said dress was definitely not going to fit me anymore.  So we found another dress (that also comes in maternity) and I think they will be beautiful.  Although Kodi looking beautiful will be the main event! :)  Saturday night we went out to eat and to a comedy show with John Reep.  He was the guy in the Ford commercials, who said, "That thing got a Hemi in it?"  I really didn't remember those commercials...but his show was soooo funny.  We laughed the entire time!

The next weekend the Outreach ministry that we serve on at church, hosted a "Trunk-or-Treat"/Fall Festival at church.  If you've never heard of trunk-or-treat ( I hadn't), people come and park at the church, and decorate their car trunks with a theme (i.e. favorite sports team, fishing, 70's, etc.).  Then the kids go trick or treating at each car.  We had other games, decorating cookies, a cake walk, decorating pumpkins, and a hay maze. We had a great turn out with lots of people from the community.  We were really happy with how everything turned out (even though it was a lot of work) and are excited about expanding it for next year!

It seems like the rest of life has been filled with other church events, youth group planning, and work.  I have work off tomorrow for Veteran's Day and we are having a "girls weekend".  My sister Kristen is coming up from Arkansas, and we are meeting up with my mom and sister Carrie in Wichita for some shopping, time together, and of course some time to spoil Zoe!  We've been looking forward to this...we don't get a lot of time to hang out...should be so fun! I will have to make sure to take lots of pictures!

Best Moment This Week: We had a fun night with some of our youth group kids on Wednesday.  We split into small groups and went to eat at someone's house (my wonderful in-laws hosted our group).  It was fun to get to know the kids a little better.
