"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

Bloglovin'

I am way late to the game here, people.  I just discovered bloglovin' and feel like I have majorly been missing out!  I always used my blogger page to read and keep track of the blogs I liked.  Lately, my reading list hasn't been loading, and half the time it is missing new posts from people.

Bloglovin' is a site where you can keep a feed of all the blogs you love in one place.  It is much easier to use and to read, and it's great for discovering new blogs in all kinds of different categories!  I also like that you can separate your list into categories.  I definitely don't want to miss posts from personal friends, but some other blogs I scan over posts I'm not interested in.

So, if you're like me and still living in the blog stone ages, or if you even type in the address of the blogs you read, try bloglovin'!  You can use the button on the right to find me! :)

Happy Friday and Happy reading!

And because no post is complete without a picture of this sweet thing! Chasing bunnies on the farm!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you all have great plans for the weekend, whether they include fun activities or just enjoying some down time at home.  Here are my top five to celebrate Friday!

One - Birthday Fun
We are meeting up for a mini birthday celebration for my sister tomorrow.  We are heading out for breakfast, then over to Botanica to enjoy the beautiful weather, flowers, and let the kids play.  I love that place, and am so ready to go back now that the weather is nice again.

Two - Party Planning
Lyle's 2nd birthday is about a month away, and I have been searching Pinterest for great ideas!  His favorite food is pancakes, so we are planning a Lumberjack party with flapjacks of course!  Bring on the flannel, suspenders, and cuteness!

Three - Mornings
People.  I got up to my alarm (without hitting snooze) three times this week.  I gave myself permission on Thursday to sleep until Lyle woke up, as he was up for a couple hours during the night.  I am trying to get on a regular routine in the mornings.  Each morning I am starting with devotions, then on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays I will work out, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I will do a little house cleaning.  Now that I've written it on here, you have to keep me accountable!

Four - Basketball
Today we are cheering on all our favorite Kansas teams in the NCAA March Madness tournament!  I am the basketball fan in our family, so hopefully my husband will let me watch some of the games! :) I love Mach Madness!

Five
I say this prayer with Lyle every night when I am putting him to bed, just like my Dad did with me when I was little.

Happy Weekend!  Love you all!

Five on Friday

Oh Friday!  I am always so happy when you come around!  I am linking up with some fabulous ladies at hello! Happiness, the good life,  A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and  to share my top five today.

One - Girls Day
I am driving with my mom tomorrow to Tulsa, to meet my sister Kristen.  We have great plans to eat at the Cheesecake Factory (yum, yum, yum!) and shop for maternity clothes for Kristen.  This is something we have been able to do together with all of the girls in my family when they are pregnant for the first time.  It is so special to share in the excitement!  We will greatly miss my other sister, but are hoping to make up for it in April with another visit.

Two - The Bachelor is over
I made Zach suffer through most of it with me, mostly because his comments make it so much funnier.  Everyone on that show is so dramatic, I have to admit we laughed when he said he was glad he didn't pick Clare after she freaked out at the rose ceremony.  Most of the time he ended up being a jerk but those girls were crazy so maybe it evens out?  My favorite part of each week was reading the recap's on Shay's blog at Pinterest Told Me To.  If you watched the bachelor this season, you HAVE to go read them.  Hilarious.
Three - The Sun Returns!
This week has finally brought the sun returning to Kansas!  Those clouds, freezing temperatures, and snow can get so depressing.  And having a toddler boy who can't go outside might drive anyone up the wall!  We have been taking full advantage of the longer days and playing outside after we get home from work.  We played "hide and seek" with a ball in the back yard the other night, and Lyle could hardly contain himself while Zach looked for the ball.  He would last about three seconds, then go screaming and pointing to where he hid it.  I was dying laughing by the time we went inside.
Four - Superhero Obsessed
Zach has been teaching Lyle all of the superheroes lately.  They've been watching cartoons on AppleTV (they have tons of old ones!).  He will say "Nanana, Batman!" and "Hulk! Smash!"  This has made him quite picky in the morning, as he wants to pick out exactly which character is on his underwear and his shirt.  If he is doing this before he is two, I'm guessing my veto power won't last much longer!
Five - A Reminder
Speaking of superheroes, I am reminded of this quote.  Not every chore can get done every day or every week.  And other people usually care a lot less than you do yourself.  But what I NEED to make time for is reading my bible, praying for my family, stopping to teach my son, and focusing on relationships.

Catching Up

We've been a little absent over here, trying to survive the never ending winter, getting over colds, and spending time together as a family.  Here is a picture overloaded post of our last couple weeks!  (Sorry, if you follow me on Instagram, there might be a lot of repeats!)

Eating green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  The Early Head Start program put on a little event in Anthony.  Lyle had fun and it got us out of the house!
Trying to put bean bags through the same colored holes.
 Getting his face painted.
 This kid loves olives.  Gross.
Making Italian nachos (like the ones from Old Chicago).  We put tortilla chips on a pan and topped it with marinara sauce, pepperoni, banana peppers, olives, and mozzarella cheese, then baked it until the cheese melted.
Lyle and his fruit loop rainbow he made at daycare.  Zach texted me to buy fruit loops at the store on my way home, so he wouldn't eat his art project.
D&J's is open!  Our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant only opens in the the spring/summer.  Nothing tastes as good as a fresh cherry limeade when the weather gets warm!
Mike came home on a business trip. What a great excuse to see two of his favorite sisters! :)
 Cousins playing in the sand.
Uncle Mike!  Lyle asks about him all the time!
Monday was almost 80 degrees, and I could not wait for work to be over so we could enjoy it!  And because of daylight savings time, we could eat supper first and still have time to play!  We went out to the farm to shoot guns, and take rides in the gator.
It was a tad bit dusty.  We all needed a shower when we got home!
And to end it all, my favorite video.  I watch it over and over.  I love this boy like crazy!
