"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

Halloween 2015

We had a blast on Halloween this year.  We started the morning with waffles then set out to carve our pumpkins.  Lyle of course reeaallly wanted the 50 pound pumpkin at the church pumpkin patch.  I thought it was a bit unnecessary, but in the end it made an awesome jack-o-lantern!  He would not touch the stuff inside the pumpkin, but was a great supervisor as we scooped it out.  He knew exactly what the faces should look like...triangles for the eyes and nose, and a scccaaarrry mouth! LOL!

We were all entertained while the kids tried on the dog's old costumes.

Lyle was much too excited to nap in the afternoon.  Gigi and Grandaddy joined us for a quick supper before we got into our costumes and headed out to trick-or-treat.

Lyle was not amused that I wanted him to take pictures before we left

Ever since watching an episode of Little Einsteins, Lyle has been telling people (for at least six months now) "You know what I'm going to be for Halloween??  A MUSIC robot!"  So we set out to make a robot costume that played music.  Thank goodness for Pinterest!  Lyle helped me pick out greeting cards at the store that played music, and I cut out the inside part and sewed them into felt pockets.  I secured the flap on the pockets with velcro, so when he opened a flap it would play a song.

Lyle's song choices were "Who Let the Dogs Out?", "I'm So Excited," and "Bad to the Bone."  It was pretty hilarious to watch him play the songs at each door, and he even broke out some dance moves at the end of the night.

Aria sported the monkey costume that Lyle wore when he was a baby.  She was too cute, and even left her hat on the whole night.  She loved being up on Dad's shoulders for most of the evening.

We'll take what we can get!  LOL!!!

It was a blast having my parents down to walk around with, and we ended the night at Great Grandma's house, with a visit from Grammy and Papa.

We let Lyle keep all of his "kitty kats" (i.e. kit-kats his new fav!) and trade in the rest of his candy for a toy.  With all the trouble with his teeth, I didn't want a month long battle of rationing his candy!  It worked pretty well!

We were grateful for such beautiful weather and such a fun night!
