What a week! We got home from the Mennonite Youth Convention last Saturday night, exhausted, but grateful for an awesome week. I'm not sure what we were thinking when we made our travel plans (well I do know...we were going for the cheapest option) but it involved too many early flights, long layovers, and not enough sleep the night before. BUT...we didn't have to drive the big red van accross country, and it didn't break down between here and Kansas City, so we are VERY grateful! :) We had so much fun with our group and made some great memories.
The speakers we had were great, especially towards the end of the week. Each afternoon there were three sessions of seminars with several topics to choose from. These were interesting to me to hear a little more about things/beliefs that are unique to the Mennonite church. I didn't grow up in a Mennonite church, nor did I take the traditional Bib Lit at Hesston College, so I don't know the history behind a lot of the beliefs. It was awesome to sit with the high schoolers after a session to hear what they learned, or had never thought of before. I am excited to start this next year with them, and get to know everyone better. They are an awesome group!
We played a lot of round-table ping-pong, Dutch Blitz, searched for our matching number on the Hesston College pole, ran up the down escalators, and watched the boys "planking." I ran into a lot of old friends, including my roommate from Hesston, Addie. What an awesome surprise, it was so much fun to catch up! The convention center was on the river, and had floor to ceiling windows to look out over the river. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the balconies and got to see an awesome fireworks show from the roof.
All in all a great week! Of course there were times where we were tired or frustrated, but what a great time of growing and renewing!
"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

I'm going on a trip, and I'm packing...
Air mattress
Belt
Cards....
Did you ever play that game? I'm pretty sure we played it in the car on vacation. You had to remember what was packed for each letter. We are packing to leave tonight for the MYF Convention in Pittsburg, PA, and I keep going over my list to make sure we have everything. We leave from the church at 11 p.m. and drive to Kansas City, where our plane leaves at about 5:30 a.m. It sounds like it will be a fun week, and I'm excited to experience convention. I went to the Evangelical Free convention when I was in high school, but always heard such awesome stories from my friends about the Mennonite convention. I'm sure we will come back tired, but hopefully with some great memories. Think of this week!

What started as a test drive....
...turned into signing papers for a new car! Zach and I went to the Honda dealership yesterday to test drive a CRV. We had no intention of buying a car that day, just wanting to see what we thought. We were really impressed with how it drove, and knew it was what we were wanting. I tell you, I am just sold on Honda's! :) We were able to take advantage of a really good percentage rate for financing, so decided to just go for it. Let me tell you, we were freaking out a little bit for the rest of the day. Because of the tsunami in Japan, supply is a little low right now, so the dealership is ordering our car, and it should be here in September. That gives us a little time to sell my car and get excited! So if you know of anyone who is in need of a 2007 Honda Accord, let me know...its an awesome car! :)

Wedding
I need to post about last weekend before it is too late! Last Saturday we got to watch our friends Dan and Allison get married! Everything was beautiful, I especially loved the feathers in Allison's hair and flowers! The wedding was at First MB in Wichita, with dinner and cake afterwards. They had a photo booth set up to take pictures with hats, wigs, and glasses-so fun! It was great to hang out with our "Wichita friends." Zach was able to go up Thursday night for the bachelor party and hang with the guys for the rest of the weekend. I got some time at home, and was able to watch my GIRL shows (none of which are on the history channel :) then had fun spending time with CJ on Saturday. We love living in Harper but sometimes I wish it was just a little closer, so we could hang out with this fun group more!
