"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecclesiastes 8:15

Hawaii.3

Lyle made it to 5:30 this morning, so we were improving!  Plus, I had made sure to put coffee on the grocery list the day before, so I was a much happier mommy on day 3!  The morning was spent planning and organizing last minute details for the graduation.  Kodi, Shawn, Zach, and I then went to hike to Makapuu Point Lighthouse.  The path was paved, but all uphill.  It made for some great spots to stop and take pictures!

After our hike we went back to the house to shower and get ready.  Lyle got a bath in the kitchen sink, since our bathtub would not plug, and for some reason he was terrified of the water running when he was in there.

We finally got everyone ready to go, loaded up in several cars, and headed over to the graduation.  It was held on their sports field, with chairs set up for immediate family, and bleachers on the sides for everyone else.  It started raining pretty much as soon as we got there, but thankfully Pat had probably five umbrellas in his truck (maybe because this happens often?)  It rained off and on through the whole graduation, and the poor graduates were sitting up on stage with no umbrellas or protection at all!  After graduation the tradition in Hawaii is to give lei's to the kids, so we each gave Madi one.  Our car loaded up pretty quick afterward to head home to "get supper started" but really we just wanted to be in dry clothes!
